LJUBLJANA AND LAKE BLED

If there was one town that reminded me of Vancouver while I was away traveling in Europe for a month, it was Ljubljana. Okay, more like Lake Bled. With the snow-capped junior Alps in the background and the mirror-like lake it was centered around, it reminded me of somewhere between North Vancouver and Whistler. So beautiful.

MADRID

Ah, Madrid. I’m back in you. Two years in a row - really? Yes, I, too, never thought I would be back so soon but when my dad decided to join me on my trip to Morocco, Spain seemed like a great add-on since it’s just across the water. seeing Madrid for a second time was just as good as the first time…perhaps even better! Spain just never gets old.

CHIANG MAI

Chiang Mai, the northern part of Thailand. What can I say about you? Well, firstly, you were better than Bangkok. You were (literally) cooler than Bangkok. And your food was great too! I had seen many temples by this point so the only main draw for me was seeing the elephants. Was it worth it? You’ll have to read after the jump!

LISBON

Warning: picture-heavy post. VERY picture-heavy. Lisbon. What a dream of a city! Definitely my favourite city of all-time. The orange-covered rooftops, countless natas, and copious amounts of wine! A very walkable (yet hilly) city, I had so much wandering the streets without knowing where I was going. Every street corner was Instagrammable and the people were so friendly. I hope to return to this wonderful city one day.

SAN JUAN

Not going to lie, I’ve never been interested in Puerto Rico…not until Despacito came out and I became obsessed with Daddy Yankee and Luis Fonsi. But since I needed a weekend getaway, I thought “Why not Puerto Rico?”. There was this beautiful new hotel opening in the ritzy Condado district that I just needed to check out so…I booked my flight. And the rest is (recent) history.

MALTA

Malta, I’ve been dreaming about you since last year. You see, I was supposed to go to Malta last year but due to complications, I wasn’t able to go and went to Rome instead. Since then, I just couldn’t get it out of my mind. Fast forward to 2019, I was planning a trip to Europe and to be honest, I knew I had to make it happen. And I am beyond ecstatic with how pleasant my stay was. It was all a dream - and a damn well good one.

MEXICO CITY

Mexico City. An accidental layover turned into a spontaneous birthday trip for myself and my dad. What a vibrant city. An eclectic mix of modernity and and the old. Still authentic to a tee. Dirt cheap tacos and world class mezcal cocktails. Currently awaiting my next weekend trip to this wonderful city. Skip the beaches and go to CDMX instead.

Prepare yourself for a very picture-heavy post on Iceland.

WELLINGTON

Never thought in a million years that I’d be traveling to Wellington but of course, life trajectories happen and have lead me to this beautiful city. Wellington was the highlight of this trip to the Pacific Islands and I am glad I made the trek out there. Wellington, although small, is completely doable in a day or two. Its best enjoyed starting off the day at one of the many artisanal coffee shops, people watching by the bays and ending with a cocktail or two. One of the most hipster cities I’ve seen as a whole and I loved it all. Read on to find out why!

FIJI

Bula! Fiji was a spur-of-the-moment add-on to my recent trips to New Zealand and Australia. Featuring a one-night stint, Fiji in a day might not sound doable…but if you’re on this side of the world, why not? Heavenly blue waters, tropical climate and everlasting sunsets, what more could you possibly ask for? More after the jump!

BALI

Bali... Oh, where to start? Such a hot destination for over the past ten years or so. I always dub Bali the new Thailand.  Island life, hot tropical weather, exotic fruits, white people everywhere. No, seriously. My posts are always honest and transparent. Did I enjoy Bali? Yes. Did I love it? No. Scenery was breathtaking but I fear that the island is starting to be overrun by tourists and locals wanting to make an extra buck. Read on to find out my honest opinion on Bali.
