#46 - Body Positivity and Comfortability in Your Own Skin Within Sex Work w/ Karla Lane
This week, I bring on multi AVN award-winning and BBW Performer of the Year, Karla Lane, onto the podcast! We talk about her start in the porn industry (including how she lost her virginity!), how the porn industry has shifted over the past 15 years, and her favourite porn scenes to shoot. We also speak on a much deeper level when it comes to body positivity - how she learned at a young age to be comfortable in her own skin and to not compare herself with others growing up and how much she's taken that advice to heart. We discuss the dynamics between the terms "BBW" and "plus-size" and what it's like to be a "fat pornstar". She's not only a phenomenal sex worker, but she also owns her own farm and grows her own herbs as well which gets my food nerd juices going. Karla was an absolute JOY to interview and as she said, she's not just known for the bomb ass body she's in, but rather, she is well-known for her warm and welcoming personality. I love the message that she spreads in this episode and I hope that this can help other sex workers with this simple phrase: you are beautiful.
