NEW CHAPTER
It's been a while since I've blogged! From Xanga to Blogger to Wordpress to Instagram, I've come full circle and have returned to writing. I've always been one to share (perhaps, an oversharer) and it's served as such a prominent outlet for me in the past that it only feels right to get behind the keyboard again. I've thought about launching this for nearly a year and I'm finally taking the leap to start this up again.
SIA Around the World tells the story of my world travels, recipes, and the things that inspire me.
- TRAVEL. This section is dedicated to all the places that I've traveled to. I'm constantly getting asked for recommendations, what to eat, where to go, where to stay... I've finally compiled a curated list of attractions, eateries, must-eats, must-sees for each travel destination I've visited. This area is also to help inspire and to change peoples' perspective on travel. Gone are the days and the mentality of thinking that you need to spend "x" amount of time in a certain destination. Sure, that's great if you have unlimited vacation time and or don't have a job, but that isn't the reality for most people. As a single, 28-year old without a ton of responsibility (I only have a mortgage to look after), it's all about the experiences. I travel...and I travel often because I can. I want to share my way of looking and experiencing the world - one weekend at a time. Even if you have a different perspective, the travel section of my blog can help with trip planning which helps cut down on researching, enabling you to enjoy your vacation even more. I have so many things planned for this area...most of my blog will be dedicated to this section.
- KITCHEN. For the (rare) times that I am at home, I will be sharing my original recipes with you. Similar to my travel stories, I am always getting asked for the food pictures I post on my Instagram stories - atleast here it won't disappear after 24 hours! From my #MasonJarMondays to my themed dinner parties at home, I am so happy to be sharing my recipes with you guys. My recipes are tried and true and work well on a gas burner. I have missed writing recipes for a long time since I stopped writing my last food blog back in 2013. This will give me another reason to start cooking on a regular basis again! Expect lots of vegan, Asian and quick weeknight dinners in this section.
- PERSONAL. I loved all of my personal blogs that I've had since the tender age of 13. Each one was different and told a story reflective of my life stage at the time. I don't anticipate I'll be contributing much to this area but we'll see... In writing I am able to illustrate and convey my current feelings and emotions which is totally therapeutic for me. This section will be dedicated to the raw, vulnerable and tender side of me (I have one, believe it or not). Or maybe just updates, who knows. It's all a work in progress - we'll see how it develops.
I hope you guys will tag along my adventures and follow me on my journey! I'm still figuring out a consistent posting schedule to keep you all interested and engaged so if you have any feedback, suggestions or requests, please throw it at me - I would love to hear from you!
